The author of the article adopts the way of interview and questionnaire based on theoretical approach, by statistic analysis, chooses one school from district key high schools, municipal key high schools and provincial key high schools respectively, carries out the investigation and research on 180 boys and 180 girls who are chosen at random from grade one to three of senior high schools; the author also combines with the informal discussion to some geography teachers, discusses the differences of boys and girls in high schools on the motives of learning geography, self-management of study, concrete learning method and detailed study; according to some relative theories like psychology, sociology and education, the author analyzes the reasons of differences in combination with the author's investigation result on the aspects of psychology, social environment, teaching & educational environment and individual employment orientation etc., and raises an issue that psychological factor is the mental mechanism that causes the differences; social environment has a long civilizing influence on the differences; education is a decisive factor of differences.
