Nowadays, with the new curricula reform of senior high school going on, more attention has been focused on the research-based teaching approach instead of traditional teaching method. Being a senior high school teacher of politics, the writer begins with the state-of-the-art reform, composing a practical thesis about the research-based approach.The thesis is divided into five chapters:Chapter one raises the question, which is mainly about the reflection on the disadvantages of traditional teaching. Ideas about the new reform are set out here, giving a view of the general background of the implement of the research-based approach.Chapter two is about the theories on the research-based approach. Connotation, characteristics, and theoretical arguments of the approach are discussed here, laying foundations of the study of the research-based approach.Chapter three is about a practical study, which is the major part of the paper. It includes the analysis on the applicability of the research-based approach in senior high school politics class, the attempt to explore a certain teaching pattern in the research-oriented class and a summary of the significance of carrying out the research-based approach in senior high school politics class.Chapter four is about the problems calling for attention during the course of the implement of the approach. If the research-based approach is to take effect, teachers have to transform their teaching values entirely and try to improve themselves on all sides. In addition, teachers have to deal with some relationships and pay more attention to cultivating the students'awareness of raising questions.To conclude, by focusing on this task and fully understanding the connotation,characteristics and theories of the research-based teaching approach, the writer tries to explore the idiographic pattern of teaching politics in senior high school on the basis of class-room teaching practice. At the same time, the writer intends to find and solve the possible problems that might appear in the practical teaching process.
