Faced with new demands for the quality of talent mady by the intellectual economy and global trend of the 21st Century, the internal and external educational circles all attach importance to the improvement of the whole national scientific literacy. The development of the scientific literacy is becoming the core of the reformation of science courses now. The new senior middle school in biology of our country points out definitely:"Do pay attention to history of biological science". The education of history of science can make students not only get a deeper understanding but also grasp the scientific ideas, methods, humanity and essence, and then develop the students'scientific literacy. HPS is a kind of educational pattern for history of science.In China so far there have been few theories of and practices on HPS educational pattern. In this thesis, by investigating and making a clear summary of the researches on the HPS educational pattern at home and abroad, the author aims to theoretically state the value of the understanding of scientific knowledge and scientific essence on education of science history, development of scientific methods and scientific ideologies and the edification of humanity sentiment, and to state the naissance and development of HPS education pattern, the effect in the science education and the study theoretics of constructivism that is the basis of it. In practice, by integrating the biology teaching of senior middle school, the author makes use of the HPS educational pattern in part of the teaching contents and has achieved favorable effects to a certain extent and got some revelations. The revelations are as follows: as a teacher, one should not only have the consciousness of lifetime-study, improve one's scientific literacy constantly, accumulate the data and materials of science history bit by bit in daily teaching, but also should estimate science and contribution of scientists objectively and profoundly. One should perfect their structures of knowledge and transform their thinking mode. In order to carry out of the education of science history in the new courses better, author puts forward some suggestions: strengthen the training of science teachers'literacy of science history; confirm the demand on the education of science history definitely and bring it into appraisement; exploit the courses resource of science history.
