Constructivism as a new development, due to its fresh interpretation of and unique insights into knowledge, learning and students, has been receiving much attention of domestic educational scholars, and to some extent has been exerting a profound impact on China's current educational reform. The innovation thought that the constructivism reflected has unique explanation strength and positive enlightenment function on the teaching of ideology and politics, so, this research is trying to analyze the true fact of traditional ideology and politics teaching from the perspective of constructivism , on the analysis, we can grasp the ideal trend in order to find a suitable way to improve the teaching effiency.This study with literature search, case analysis and induction involved, can be divided into five parts.The first part is the preamble, introducing source of the topic, the significance and the basic ideas, methods and innovation in the study.The second part provides a brief and concise knowledge of constructivism. Review on constructivism from the perspectives of philosophy and psychology is followed by its theoretical point of views on knowledge, learning, students and context and significance of constructivism, which lies in its full expression to the understanding of the initiative, real understanding of the learner-oriented teaching, and the discovery of the importance of the existing experience and knowledge of learners, the context and interactions between the teacher and learners.The third part mainly carries on the true analysis of traditional ideology and politics teaching from the perspective of constructivism. It first, based on teaching practice, starts with two specific cases to indicate that under the current situation, despite a strong impact on the course of reform of ideological and political teaching, deficiencies still exists in the traditional teaching. Along with constructivism, it straightly points out the neglect of the main role students and their cognitive context (acquired experience and knowledge) and lack of interactive cooperation in the teaching. Lastly, it shows that the main cause to such problems exist in the traditional concept of knowledge and the impact of some erroneous assumptions.The fourth part mainly grasps the ideal trend of ideology and politics teaching from the perspective of constructivism. In the part, in connection with many shortcomings, and put forward that the traditional ideology and politics teaching is bound to care for the students' activity , chain students' experience of life, and pay more attention to the function of the situation and construction to build the strong interdynamic cooperative atmosphere, and analyze the tactics that it implemented in details. On this basis, this paper predicts that the ideal trend will surely face perplexes on how to coordinate the pairs: "centeredness" and "guidance"; "contextaual" and "non-contextual", and the potential deviations in the course of reform : repeated emphasis on students and ignorance of teachers'guidance, excessive stress of the creation of contexts and overlooking abstraction. Finally this part makes a further analysis of the content mentioned before.The fifth part is a conclusion. Proceeded with a brief review of the prosperous research of constructivism it states the necessity for the further development in this field. At the same time, point out the direction which continue research should probe into.
