Socialization of college students' morality refers to the processthat through study and practice, college students internalize socialmoral principles and conventions, and accordingly form their morality.It is an important issue in the construction of Chinese citizens'morality, so it is meaningful both theoretically and practically to studythe socialization of college students' morality.Under the circumstance of the current socialist market economyand during the process of constructing a harmonious socialist society,the socialization of college students' morality in China mainly facesthree challenges: economic globalization, market economy, and theconstruction of a harmonious socialist society.Socialization of college students' morality can be realized byinternalizing their morality, which means by learning in society, theycan acquire social moral principles and conventions, and transformthem into their own moral qualities. During the process ofinternalizing college students' morality, various sub-systems and therelevant factors of college students' self-consciousness will beinvolved. This is the psychological mechanism. The characteristics ofcollege students' moral socialization are: the unity of passivity andinitiative; the unity of stability and changeability; the unity ofgenerality and individuality; the unity of persistence andrepetitiveness; the unity of interim and duration.Socialization of college students' morality can not be observed asan isolated issue, for it is influenced by other factors. Because of thecomplexity of the social life and the pluralism in college students'social practice, the factors that influence the socialization of collegestudents' morality are various. The major external factors are: thesocial ideology in which college students live, including the socialist economy system, political system, and the prevailing thoughts andculture; college students' living surroundings and residential condition,including the natural environment, cultural environment, and theirdaily life and social practice; college students' family in which theywere born and educated; informal social communication with theneighbors, friends, and acquaintances, and the organizations thatcollege students join in temporarily for various reasons; variousprivate education organization such as literature and art association,physical training team; the school in which college students study.The major internal factors are college students' group psychology,moral consciousness and psychological quality.The approaches to optimize the socialization of college students'morality are: to improve the moral environment, including familymoral environment, school moral environment, and social moralenvironment; to strengthen college students' moral education; toconstruct college student's moral system; and to reinforce collegestudents' consciousness of moral discipline.
