In the present time of globlism, information society and economicknowledge, reading has become the sign of existence and developmentfor a person or a nation. We can say that the person who is not good atreading or ignores reading is an unambitious one lacking in potentialprogress and that such a nation as the person above is an unpromising onein danger. With the further development of reform and open policy aswell as the repeated emphasis to the teaching of reading,especially to theout-of-class reading from the course reform,these years the market ofout-of-class reading materials has become the most active one.It hasbecome one of the biggest businesses that many people focus theirattention on,because it is full of business fortune.In face of the broad seaof books,a part of students and pupils have lost their directions. They getaddicted to the culture of leisure,fast food and even rubbish readingmaterials so that the out-of-class reading becomes an unproper onelacking literature and famous works. In view of present situation and inorder to show concern for the children's complete and harmoniousgrowth,especially for their spiritual growth,this thesis will focus onmiddle school students and pupils' choice for out-of-class reading materialsunder the direction of the theories of Humanism, Constructivism andMultiple Intelligences and under the promotion of the theories of Societyof Learning, Educational Personality and Self-education.Firstly: Index and reference booksSection one: Explain what the out-of-class reading materials refer toin this thesis.It mainly studies the situation where the students or pupilschoose their out-of-class reading materials, including the trend ofstudents' choice and market sale as well as the analysis of causes and results.Section Two: Compound what should be bases on when the studentschoose the reading materials so as to set a direct standard on how tochoose reading materials and set an indirect standard on what readingmatercals to publish.Section Three: State the policy on how to choose the students'out-of-class reading materials.Section Four: On how to adjust and control the students' out-of-classreading materials. This section as well as the second and third one is themain body of the thesis.Lastly: Ending words. Put forward the earnest expectations.
