Reading is the most essential element of the modern life, and it plays an important role inthe developing society. The new curriculum reform had already been10years, and the newtime requires our students must put forward. In order to adapt to the new environment ofreading, our students should make some efforts to meet the needs of the backgroundrequirements. However, due to the impact of themselves and the external factors, studentshave many problems in extracurricular reading attitude, habits, ability etc.This paper mainly through questionnaire survey, select the grade in Shanxi provinceYangquan city in primary school students as the research object, and statistical analysis of thedata collected, we find out the main problems existing in the middle grade of primary schoolstudents in extracurricular reading, and through the summary and analysis of the problem, putforward some relevant suggestions and strategies, to promote primary school grade studentsextracurricular reading the meager strength.This paper contains a total of three parts. The first part introduces the topics of reason,and the related literatures are involved are reviewed in this paper, by analyzing and combingsystem, find the starting point of this study, and puts forward the research significance andpurpose of the thesis. Secondly, should be needed in this research, found the theoretical basisfor the theoretical basis of this research. Finally, define the definition of extracurricularreading in the study, and the research methods required for this research process.The second part of this study is mainly based on the questionnaire reflects the data; findthe main problems existing in students’ extracurricular reading, and to analyze the causes ofthe problem. According to the five dimensions reflects the questionnaire, main problems are:lack of awareness of students’ extracurricular reading; utilitarian motives; habits; the lack ofcapacity; the lack of a good reading environment.In the third part, based on the first two parts, according to the related theory, the presentstudents’ extracurricular reading problems are analyzed, and on this basis puts forward fivesuggestions and strategies, respectively is: reducing the burden, Tim mind; in literature, theinterest; strategy, breeding habits; heavy class, increase the ability of home school association,and the environment.
