With the development of economy and intensity of international sports competition, as well as Beijing's bidding for Olympic Games in 2008, it is a fact that a great number of people will be needed to enrich that market of our country, which as a result poses higher demands to those units taking the responsibility of fostering excellent sports talents. In the training for postgraduates majoring in physical studies, physical education and training, with the largest scale and the longest history, takes the misson of training high-quality and high-level talents for education, training and researching. On the basis of above situation, the author of the present paper surveys the training condition of postgraduates majoring in physical education and training in the universities of North China in greater detail. Thus, the paper further analyzes problems existing in various training sectors to get to know deficiencies from different aspects, so as to seek to find efficient solutions. No wonder that the research can provide a certain reference for sound, fast and positive development of postgtaduates education in the area of North China. Meanwhile, it will be of great significance for carrying forward"the innovation plan for postgraduate education".From the research of training objective, curriculum, the number of years set for a course, faculty of tutors and the current condition of fostering abilities concerning postgraduates majoring in physical education and training in universities on North China, the following main conclusions can be reached:①At present, the training objectives of those universities with a more comprehensive objective are identical with postgraduates'employment direction, while concrete objectives are not clear and definite as yet. Singling fostering persons qualified to teach can't meet demands of society and employment, because pluralistic trend of employment decides pluralism of training objectives.②There is something wrong with curriculum in that common courses take much higher proportion, while elective courses much lower. Inadequate innovation of curriculum, out-dated contents as well as dull teaching methods are all problems. In addition, there are fewer courses for training students'practical ability and elective courses of cross-subjects, so students are not so satisfied.③The number of years should be flexible according to the real situation, which can be decided by training units of themselves. Most postgraduates can't dispose time between learning and writing graduation thesis rationally, so with low efficiency, they can't guarantee the quality of their thesis.④Age structure and academic titles of tutors accord with the demands, but the number is in shortage and unsound evaluation and supervision mechanisms result in the inadequacy of tutor's guide to postgraduates. Furthermore, few teachers of cross-subject and cross-university take part in the recombination of tutors.⑤In the aspect of fostering students'ability, the level of special techniques and skills remain to be weak. There exist such problems as formalism of social practice and little experience of participating in academic communication, which restrict the development of postgraduats'personality and their innovation thinking. The training units should greatly strengthen the task of combination beween theory and practice.
