Open source software is software that its source code is open, users can freely use, copy, distribute and modify source code(added loopholes, according to the specific needs of customization). It is often available at no cost. Open source software is not technically reflect their own advantage (better performance, better stability, better security, etc.), at the same time it has also brought changes in the social and cultural fields, particularly the impact on learning and education is increasingly profound. Open source software with its own advantages are widely used in the world, such as areas of government, business and education sectors, open source concepts "freedom, openness, sharing, mutually aid and cooperation, equality, and innovation" have been widely disseminated. Our country's primary and secondary school teachers of information technology have begun to contact and use open source software.Open source software as a manifestation of a spirit of openness, and as a divided part to proprietary software, has a value and necessary of its existence, and it is necessary that let the students learn it. Open source software can provide teachers and students a more free and open, mutually aid and cooperation learning environment, and shows its greater advantage in training students'capability of innovation, collaboration, cooperation, in-depth study, practical, social skills and emotional. Information technology education can no longer be confined to the Microsoft software of teaching, and should advocate for open source software and diversification teaching.This study mainly discussed the feasibility of open source software used in high school IT curriculum and the "Information Technology" textbook design and development for high school based on open source software, embodied the spirit of open source in the process of textbook design based on the learning activities, aimed at promoting the promotion and application of open source software in the field of education as well as the sipirit of open source widespread. The purpose and innovation of this study is divided into two parts:1. Firstly, the author discussed on the relationship between open-source software and education, and revealed the open source software's educational significance, i.e.①providing new learning content and cognitive tools for information technology curriculum of teaching and learning, and promoting individual learning;②spreading the spirit of open source, and promoting innovation and sharing in knowledge, and promoting cooperation between the people;③promoting informal learning. Secondly, from five aspects of comparative analysis the information technology education teaching using Microsoft software and open source software: the comparison analysis of "Total Cost of Ownership" (TCO), the comparison analysis of the innovation of the training of the students, the comparison analysis of the security and stability, the comparison analysis of the national information security and the development of the software industry, the comparison analysis of the spirit of openness. Then, Interpretation based on open source software "ordinary high school information technology curriculum standards" which from two aspects of "the five modules of Information Technology curriculum" and "the recommendations of curriculum standards for textbook designing". And then, turning into the discussing, which is our country's information technology curriculum reform in primary and secondary schools face such a crucial point: from a single series of Microsoft software teaching to open source software and diversification teaching. Finally come to the conclusion that: it has a feasibility which open source software used in high school IT curriculum.2.In-depth study and research on IT textbook design and development for high school based on open source software related theory—Textbook Design Theory, Learning Theories, Instructional Theory, Instructional Target Classification Theory, Educational Communication Theory and Learning Activities of the Centre for Instructional Design Theory. And then, the author proposed the IT textbook design concept for high school based on open source software, focusing on the design purpose, design ideas and design features, the overall concept and structure, and sample chapter-section design.The design purpose is to prepare students with a modern instructional ideas, adapting to today society's open cultural,improving the quality of student information as its objective of high school information technology textbook based on open source software, and focus on the promotion the pace of high school information technology curriculum reform and the use of open source software, and the dissemination of ideas of "freedom, openness, sharing, mutually aid and cooperation, equality, innovation".Design ideas are including mainly five areas: The teaching content should pay attention to different feelings of different learners who learn the content, and emphasis on the role of learners'experiences. In the view teaching organizations, the role of teachers as organizers and administrators are more significant prominent, and the implementation of learning activities is the learners themselves. In the view of the teaching environment, how accordance with the actual conditions under the Comprehensive Utilization of the Internet and off-internet environment and resources is one of the main points of instructional design. The teaching methods stressed activities designed and enable learners through experience transform knowledge content into operational capacity. The teaching evaluation pay more attention to authenticity assessment which is the real performance of learner in the process of learning.Design features including mainly four aspects: Firstly, the textbook design content is around the central theme which enhance the information quality of high school students; secondly, the textbook followed the understanding of "technical" to design learning activities, and highlighted the cultural value of open source philosophy; Thirdly, the textbook design embodied features such as open, scientific, operational, practical; Fourthly, diversified evaluation and authenticity assessment of organic of integration in the teaching process.Under the guidance of curriculum standards, textbook design of this study specifically including six modules: "information technology infrastructure" (compulsory module), "algorithm and program design" (optional module), "Multimedia Technology Application" (optional module), "Network Application" (optional module), "data management technology" (optional module) and "artificial intelligence preliminary" (optional module). This paper sets out in detail the various modules of the chapter structure. The sample Chapter is two parts of the content information technology infrastructure (compulsory module),which are "Linux operating system" and "the text and tables of information processing".The teaching of information education used open source software, be well with the current social theme which vigorously promoted innovation education and the quality of education. Therefore, open source software is used in the curriculum of primary and secondary information technology classroom will become a trend. The spreading of open source philosophy and the promotion of open source software promotion and application in the field of education is a era mission. Of course, the author is not advocating open source software entirely replace Microsoft software, but open source software should be a part of education and teaching of information technology. Information technology curriculum design and development based on open source software is a prerequisite for open source software teaching, also is the basis of open source software teaching experiments.
