The teaching and learning is in separate situation, and it easily lead to interracitve not in time between distance learners and distance teachers, the feeling of loneliness, and lacking of the sense of ownership from the distance learning institution. Solving these problems must start with the improvement of learning support service. Practice studies and surveys indicates that among the learning support service in the Modern Distance Education Pilot Universities, the times between teachers and learners and the quality of interaction in the course forum remain to improve. The research is exactly to improve the qualities of learning support service and teaching as tenet, improve the instructional interaction as means, and make the task-based learning approach and Collaborative Learning theory as the foundation.And then combine the characteristic of modern distance eduacation and the characteristic of a concrete course, put forward the design and implement of task-based distance group collaborative accordingly; Set out from the classification of teaching goals, extract five key elements of the design of distance group collaborative learning process. We make the course forum of"modern teaching theory"in the Network College, South China Normal University as an experimental platform, make the design concept and method implemented, and verify the feasibility and validity of the design method.During the research, the researcher enter the scene as an e-tutor of"modern teaching theory"course, offering the convenience to observing on the spot. And make sure the data we collect is exactly true.The paper does the instructional environmental analysis, course characteristic analysis at first, and takes all the learners who take "modern teaching theory" as an active course to carry on an investigation. The results show that the distance learners have curious sense and feelings of freshness in collaborative learning. The majority express their willingness to accept such new learning way, but they doubt if the method should be implemented all right. So, how to enable continual collaborative learning,and how to make the learner cooperate voluntarily are the two important problems which should be broken in this research.From analysis on each factor, the writer make classification of learning goals and instructional design theory to as the basis, confirm five key elements on the design of task-based distance group collaborative learning process of: design of learning task scene, design of learners' behavior, design of e-tutor's behavior, learning process control and study and design of learning evaluation.And then the paper takes on process of two rounds of experiments carried on" modem teaching theory"course, and makes the effect analysis of the tests. Revising the scheme constantly during the process of implementing, especially summarize tactics and method of this module," the learning process controll". Draw the experience and lessons from the first round of experiment, propose improving the scheme, and implement it in the second round of experiment. The second round of experiment is mainly improved on the sender rules in the course forum, lead tactics of learning and the design of evaluation,which are revised to the first round of experiment program.Finally, the conclusion part of the paper, sum up the steps and design method taking on the desigh of task-based distance group collaborative leaming process, propose strategy to the learning process control, and analyze the communincate network in distance group collaborative learning.And then the paper make result analysis of the research to prove the value of it, and put forward the direction to further studying.
