Scientific skills are an important part of scientific literacy. The cultivating of students'scientific skills is inevitably one of the essential tasks and core goals for schools; therefore, many people attach importance to it in scientific teaching practice. Chemistry course,an important carrier of scientific education, also bears the task to cultivate students'scientific skills. The New Standards of Chemistry Curriculum in High School brings forward the idea that the Chemistry curriculum in high schools is an important component of scientific education, and it plays an irreplaceable role in improving students'scientific literacy and promoting their comprehensive development. This idea explicitly establishes the cultivating and developing of students'scientific literacy as a core goal. Nevertheless, the present definition and the contents of the scientific skills are not clear enough, especially the requests and the study to the"scientific process skills"are not perfect, which can not yet meet the requests of cultivating and improving students'scientific literacy advocated by the basic education reform of China. Consequently, this thesis fully studies the goals, contents, and practical ways of scientific skills in Chemistry curriculum in high school, with the purpose to enrich and perfect the scientific skills system which can meet the needs of the basic education reform in China. This thesis is made up of the following four parts: In the first part, the meaning, value, and goals of the scientific skills system in Chemistry curriculum in high school are discussed. Through the analysis to the requests to skills cultivating in the Chemistry teaching outline in high school after the establishing of PRC as well as those put forward in the New Standards of Chemistry Curriculum in High School, the significance of this thesis is concluded and the study question is advanced. The second part analyzes in details the goals of scientific skills in Chemistry curriculum in high school. Through the contrast analysis to the cultivating goals and training system of scientific skills home and abroad, the author gets the conclusion that"scientific process skills"is the key-point in the cultivating of scientific skills in Chemistry courses. After that, this thesis, based on the features of Chemistry and the classification to skills in psychology, divides into three parts and analyzes in details the scientific skills in high school Chemistry courses into three parts: chemical experiment skills, chemical calculating and chemical terms and scientific process skills. On the basis of the former two parts, the third part emphasizes the cultivating of the"scientific process skills"and the constructing of scientific skills training system in Chemistry curriculum of high school. After analyzing the social needs and teachers'understanding to scientific skills, the necessity of cultivating various skills needed in scientific research is educed. On the basis of psychology, scientific methods theories and the practical features in scientific education,as well as the Chemistry curriculum standards of compulsory education, the author forms and analyzes one by one the contents of the goal system of scientific skills in new Chemistry curriculum in high school, including the skills to advance questions, the skills to collect and deal with information, the skills to guess and suppose, the skills to do experiments, the skills to conclude, the skills to evaluate and reflect, and the skills to communicate and cooperate. The last part, part four, studies the ways to actualizing scientific skills in Chemistry courses in high school. Through the analyzing to the new textbooks and the concrete teaching cases, this part explains ways to cultivate each of the scientific skills, especially the skills to advance questions and the skills to guess and suppose. Suggestions are put forward in the end for consulting by teachers.
