Research On The Situation Of Implementing The P.E. Curricula In The Universities Of Jiangsu Province

Throug the questionnaire analysis, experts interviews, logical and documentary analysis and statistics, targeting on 10 universites in Jiangsu Province, this paper makes a research on the situation of implementing the P.E. course in the universities (mainly on the basis of the purpose, structure, content, format of organization, teaching faculty, venue and apparatus of P.E. course). After understanding the attitude and perception that the teachers and students have held, referring to the P.E. course, it summarizes the advantages and disdvantages in the implementation process of P.E. course. It is stated that all the universities in Jiangsu should transform their theoritical purpose of P.E. course into the learning purpose of their students, which is operational in P.E. teaching. And we should put much enphasis on the organic combination of mental health with physical education.The number of years to implenent the P.E. curricula in the universities should increased and the contents of the P.E. curricula should be enlarged. Much emphasis should not only be placed on the link-ups between the P.E. curricula in high schools and those in universities but also on the reform of the sports events, the development of new popular events and the development of traditional events as well. Nevertheless, we should focus on the combination of the teaching practice with theory so as to realize the combination of the physical education and health with the life and the society. The teachers engaged in P.E. teaching career should try practising all kinds of reform in teaching experiment actively. We must give full play to the leading role of the teacher and the principal role of the students in P.E. teaching so as to encourage the students to learn things consciously, in explorative manner and in collabration with others. Universities, on the one hand, should try their best to establish the reasonable structure of their faculty, to strongthen the establishment of the academic teams in echelon formation and to enhance the reaction of the scientific research on P.E. teaching so that a P.E. teaching faculty with the high professional qualities is able to be established. On the other hand, the sports venues and facilities in universities in Jiangsu should be constructed in adaptation to the enlargment of the universities'recruitment nationwide in recent years so as to make the reform and development of P.E. teaching in Jiangsu's universities to be significantly meaningful.
