In the 21th century, human society is entering a new era of information. Various kinds of information technology, especially the Internet, are enforcing more and more influences on the teaching and learning models of universities, which put forward higher requirements for autonomous innovation abilities and cultivation qualities of university students. With respect to this social background, traditional education ideas as well as learning opinions and methods can not satisfy the above requirements Well so that learning innovation for university students is greatly needed.In this paper, learning innovations for universities were studied from the perspectives of learning opinion innovation, learning method innovation and teaching model innovation. The main research work and contributions of this paper include:(1) At first, the innovation problems of learning opinions for university students were explored. Based on the analysis of new features in university learning under the environments of information networks, a new framework of learning opinions for university students was proposed, which include the learning opinions of digitalization, personalization, cooperation, and innovation.(2) Next, the innovation problem of learning methods for university students under information environments was studied in a systematic way. The necessities of innovations in learning methods were analyzed and the learning methods based on personalization, cooperation and research were comprehensively studied from the perspective of learning innovation architectures for university students. A personalization learning approach was proposed by combining personalized learning, model and corresponding, evaluative feedback mechanisms. In addition, the main elements of research-based learning methods were identified as the following four aspects, i.e., resources, abilities, environments, and strategies.(3) Based on the above work, the innovations of university teaching models were studied from the dialectical perspectives of teaching and learning. The modeling of personalization learning by the way of learning orientation was analyzed in detail. A framework of comprehensive teaching model that combines cooperative learning and research-based learning was presented. Teaching experiments on network-based English teaching innovation in Hunan Agricultural University illustrate the superiority of new teaching models over traditional teaching modes under network environments.
