The serious employment situation makes career consultation more important and necessary, which put forward to a requirement for strengthening the research in the field of career psychology. Based on the social cognitive career theory and the expectation theory, this paper examined the effects on career consideration of career self-efficacy, work value, career interest and social support as well as the interaction among these factors, with 331 college students as subjects from five universities in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces. The results showed:(1) For college students, there was a distinct correlation between each two of four factors of career consideration, career self-efficacy, work value, and career interest. Subjective social support had a significant correlation with career consideration. Use of social support was significantly correlated with career consideration and with career self-efficacy.(2) Career self-efficacy and work value could be used to forecast career interest.(3) Career interest, career self-efficacy and work value could be used to forecast career consideration.(4) Work value acted as a mediator between career self-efficacy and career interest.(5) Career interest acted as a mediator between career self-efficacy and career consideration, and between work value and career consideration.(6) Career self-efficacy acted as a mediator between social support and career consideration.(7) Based on the path analysis, career self-efficacy affected work value directly, and it affected career interest indirectly through work value; career self-efficacy and work value not only affected career consideration directly, but also affected career consideration indirectly through career interest; use of social support affected career consideration indirectly through career self-efficacy,...
