The employment of college students is a focus point in the field of Career Psychology,and vocational interest is especially one of the hot issues.As today's grim situation of employment,college students can make their career planning better and contribute to the overall development with the help to explore their vocational interests,so it's necessary to make study of college students' vocational interest.This study explored the effect of career social support on college students' vocational interests,and as well examined the role of career decision-making self-efficacy as a mediator.This study based on the Social Cognitive Career Theory(SCCT),and researcher used the method of psychological tests on 775 undergraduate college students.Researcher used ?The Self-directed Search? to measure students' vocational interests,which compiled by Holland in 1969;applied self-compiled ?Career Social Support Questionnaire? to test college students' perceived career-related social support;adopted ?Career Decision-making Self-efficacy-Short From? to measure the career decision-making self-efficacy of college students,which compiled by Hampton & Nan Zhang in 2005.The self-compiled ? Career Social Support Questionnaire ? included both property and source of support,eventually composed of six dimensions: familial emotional support,familial instrumental support,companionate emotional support,companionate instrumental support,environmental emotional support,environmental instrumental support.This questionnaire has good reliability and ideal construct validity,and can effectively measure college students' perceived career-related social support.MANOVA analysis,correlation analysis,multiple regression analysis and modeling by structural equation model was carried out on the data analysis,then following results were obtained:(1)College students' vocational interests have significant gender differences in the five types(Realistic,Investigative,Artistic,Social,Enterprising),in addition to Conventional.(2)Career social support can significantly predict college students' vocational interests.(3)Career decision-making self-efficacy plays the role as a mediator between the relationship of career social support and career interests.This study discussed the important role of vocational interest in career development,thus had a lot theoretical significance and practical value.First,the self-compiled ?Career Social Support Questionnaire? enriched the method of career psychological measurement;Second,this study examined the appropriateness of Social Cognitive Career Theory(SCCT)on contemporary college students;Third,advice about how to offer contemporary career counseling and guidance were given.
