This thesis is devoted to the study of the political socialization ofuniversitystudents majoringinscienceandtechnologyas awholeundergivencircumstances. With Marxist fundamental principles as my guidance, I adopttheories and methodologies in modern politics, sociology, ideologicalpedagogy and the like to approach the study subject from a multitude ofperspectives and dimensions, with a purpose of enriching the theories ofpolitical socialization of university students as well as promoting thetheoretical advancement of ideological pedagogy. Based on the study of thepresentsituationofpoliticalideasandthoughtsofstudentsmajoringinscienceand technology, this thesis summarizes the conspicuous characteristics ofuniversitystudentswhomajorinscienceandtechnology,andadvocateshighlyoperational strategies to better their political socialization, which is of utmostsignificance in enhancing their political qualifications as well as maintainingsocialstabilityandeconomicdevelopmentinthelongrun.The thesis consists of six chapters, each contributing to one relevantaspect of the political socialization of university students majoring in scienceandtechnology. Thefirstchapterisintroduction,comprisingoffourpoints:theissuetobestudies, the definitions of relevant terms and concepts, the literature review athomeandabroad,andthestructureandoriginalityofthethesis.The second chapter deals with the aims and significance of politicalsocialization of university students majoring in science and technology. Theaims, in short, are to help the students develop noble political ideals, correctpolitical attitudes, coordinated political psychology and active politicalparticipation.Thesignificanceofthestudylies inthespecial status androleofthestudentswithscienceandtechnologyastheirmajor.The third chapter is focused on the present situation of the politicalsocialization of university students majoring in science and technology. Threekey issues are discussed in this chapter: the characteristics of universitystudents majoring in science and technology, the merits and advantages ofthese university students in political socialization, as well as their existingproblems.The fourth chapter, one of the critical points of the thesis, is devoted totheanalysisofthereasonsfortheproblemsputforwardinthepreviouschapter.Bothsubjectiveandobjectivefactorsareincludedintheproblemanalysis.The fifth chapter serves as the most important part in my thesis. In thischapter I concentrate my attention on the approaches to realizing the politicalsocialization of university students majoring in science and technology, whichis summarized into five: firstly, we should enhance our awareness of thesignificance of political socialization of university students majoring inscience and technology; secondly, we should optimize the education of ideology and politics in the university students; thirdly, we should emphasizetheeducationofhumansciencesinuniversitystudentsmajoringinscienceandtechnology; fourthly,we shouldstrengthenthe constructionofcampus culture;and lastly, we should educate the students to participate more in socialpracticestodeveloptheirpoliticalsocializationinanall-roundway.The sixth chapter is the conclusion. In this part I summarize the mainideasandkeypointsofmythesiswithcloserelevancetothetopicofmystudy.
