Thingking in images is an important thinking pattern in poetic creation. And one of the most conspicuous characteristics of potery is the use of images. Therefore, by focusing on images in potery teaching, we can get fuice the result with half the effort in training students' capabilities in thinking in images and creative thinking, depending their understanding of potry, and cultivating their faste for potry.The paper is divided into five parts:Part one borrows the theories of thinking in images in poetry of academe and illustrates its significance in the Chinese teaching in high school. Part two arites that image, as a tool in the plot development of poetry, is put into pratical teaching to help students understand the features of poetry such as laconism, and the leap in content. Part three argues that poetry conveys ideas by means of images. Also, it talks about how to lead students rightly to fully understand the relationship between images and symbols, images and emotion, and images and experiences. Taken Li He and Li Po as examples, Part four attempts to inspire students and fire their imagination through thinking in images. Furthermore, based on the poetry bu Hai Zi and Liu Bannong, part four helps students to understand that imagination in poetry comes from the rich experiences in life and emotion. The fifth part deals how to cultivate students' faste by images. Take landscape poems as a case in point, it holds that what in poetry, combined with visualization in painting can improve student' fastes from the perspective of appreciating emotion in visualization.Conclusion: the teaching methods is greatly ennched when thinking in images is put into the effect in practical teaching. Thinking in images enables students to fully enjoy the language beauty, emotion beauty, philosophy beauty, and nature beauty, and at the same time makes their thinking patterns switch from thinking in words to thinking in images . In this way, it can also wed poetry teaching to quality-oriented education.
