Autonomous learning is ability, it's very important for students in their lives.Learning English is for getting speaking ability and at last we use the language in real life. The Mastery of the skill needs students'autonomous abilities. And the final goal of school education is teaching students how to learn. But the English classroom is the teacher- centered model, and the teaching process focuses on basic language points, like vocabulary, grammar, etc. It's an attractive topic to cultivate student's autonomous learning ability in the English process. The theory of autonomous learning has already got great achievements in foreign countries, and it has also been used in our country's teaching, but we haven't used it in our English teaching. The aim of the research is to use of autonomous learning model in English teaching, improving students′English level, developing students′English autonomous ability, and training lots of clever learners.First, the essay states that the junior high school students have poor English autonomous learning ability, and introduce the history and present condition of autonomous learning; the connotation, the feature and the theory of autonomous learning.In the second and third parts of the essay, the author investigates junior high school students'autonomous learning situation and finds that the situation is not optimistic. The students have poor self-efficacy, don't have scientific learning strategies and have poor self-evaluation,self-regulation . These are the basic reasons of the poor English autonomous learning ability.In the fourth part, the author finds ways for the factors that affect autonomous learning. These factors are self-efficacy, learning strategies, self-evaluation, self-regulation.Autonomous learning is a good way to learn English well. After the students have got the autonomous learning ability , they can transfer this ability to other subjects and have a good foundation for future study . |
