A Study On Reform Of Academic Organizations At Basic Level

It has become a very urgent and important task for China in the 21st century to concentrate all the limited resources to foster a group of world-class universities, and thus to accelerate the development of higher education in China in a whole. At the same time, with the extension of functions of universities, it is necessary to adjust inner management system of universities. The former way of organizing teachers to form different basic academic branches according to the courses they teach does not match the present reform on higher education and the reform of, nor does it match the future scientific and cultural development. So, it is quite necessary to change the former academic system to further the university's reform on the whole management system to make teachers work more efficiently and achieve our goal of making our university one stresses more on researches.This paper tries to provide a reasonable system of organizing academic branches at basic level by beginning its discussion with the basic management unit of academic organizations at basic level, and fatherly inducing and deducing the development of universities stressing researches domestic and abroad with a detailed analysis on practices in Lanzhou University.
