A Comparison Study Of Junior Chinese Teaching Aterials In Mainland China And China Taiwan

During the developing process of worldwide curricular reform, Mainland China and China Taiwan speak the same language and share the same culture at all times. Thus they have a lot of similarities in the selection and arrangement of Chinese teaching materials. This article is written to get a better understanding of the current situation of Chinese education in Taiwan, which will serve as a good helper for the improvement of Chinese education in the Mainland. Besides, it will attract more attention from the public and promote the interaction and development of Chinese education in both sides. Finally, it will benefit the reform of curricula and teaching materials in the two sides.The whole article is based on two books including Experimental Chinese teaching Book of Compulsory education Standard system (Year 7～9) published by People's Education Publishing House and High School Chinese Literature published by Kangxuan Education Com Ltd(The biggest Taiwan local company). The research is focused on the advantages as well as the disadvantages of reform background, compiling style and content of junior materials in the Mainland and China Taiwan by using the literature and comparison analysis methods. The comparison in this article shows that if more progress in Chinese education is expected in both sides, the Mainland should lay more emphasis on the quality of the texts and the practical arrangement of assistant knowledge. While Taiwan should pay less attention to political factors by selecting classic articles by contemporary writers from the Mainland and keep a good balance between original reading and assistant system.
