| The research orients its aim towards maths teachers in Xiamen middle schools, and adopts philological approach, classroom observation approach, interview approach, questionnaire survey approach, mathematics Statistics approach and etc. It compares teaching strategies of different types of maths teachers in secondary schools, including novice, proficient and expert teachers, and then elaborates on the discrepancy between novice teachers and expert teachers. The research shows some obvious discrepancy between the three types of teachers. Proficient teachers perform better in most teaching strategies, which can be concluded from the proficiency of teaching routine. Expert teachers are superior to novice teachers in teaching strategies and do better in flexibility, creativity, efficiency, self-reflection and research ability, which are badly needed by novice teachers. However, novice teachers still possess some advantages, such as full preparations for lessons, getting along better with students, proficiency in information technologies, stronger ability in working out answers, willingness for self-reflection and etc. Based on the above research, the essay comes up with strategies for the training of novice teachers with the purpose of shortening their growth period, and providing backup for expert teachers. |
