The Influence Of Postmodernism On University Students And Its Countermeasures

Postmodernism is a kind of pan-cultural thoughts which come into being in the 1950s in the Western developed country .It makes reconsiderations and criticisms on modernity. With the globalization and the intercourse between East and West widely, it enters the university students' field of vision and make a noticeable influence on their ideological modes of thought and the behavior .Analyze the postmodern trend correctly and make a good understanding on it is propitious to university students make the most of the postmodern trend's reasonable and positive viewpoint and overcome its negative viewpoint.Firstly, the postmodern trend was defined in this paper. It includes the background of the postmodern trend and its spreading in China, its content and the angle of this paper. Above this foundation, this paper analyzes two major aspects from the radical postmodern philosophy and the constructive postmodern philosophy .It analyzes the radical postmodern philosophy's five theories of deconstruction universalism, anti-rationalism, the new pragmatism, anti- traditionalism, the anti-center theory and constructive postmodern philosophy's theories on call on the Feminism, emphasize the relationship between human and nature, opposed to make itself for the center.Secondly, this paper points out these theories make some negative influence and some positive influence on university students. Especially on the university students' outlook of politics, moral, behaviors, consumptions and mentality, this paper analyzes the negative influence of postmodern trend and discuss it from the philosophy .Then it dissertates the university students' concrete manifestation form the influence .Finally, the paper put forward two proposals about how to deal with the influence of the postmodern trend on university students. On one hand, the university students should have a good understanding on the postmodern trend and strengthen their abilities to make a distinction between right and wrong. On the other hand, we should attach importance to influence of the external environment on university students, construct the good campus culture atmosphere positively, establish the perfect psychology consulting system to help the university students to resolve their mental puzzle, cultivate the university students to have perfect personality. Meanwhile, family and society should also create good atmosphere for the university students to resist the postmodern trend, guiding them to grow up healthily and upward.
