Organizational culture theory is a theory on administration, which appeared in the end of the twentieth century. Many researchers found successful corporation supported by something excellent culture, and they put forward the point of view that organization culture plays an important role in development of corporation. As a social organization, college and university take on three main functions that are educating students, scientific research and social service. If there were not better organization culture, college and university is difficult to fulfill these three main functions.College and university started to carry out the reformation of higher education management system from the 1990s in our country. The reformation took "common construction, adjusting, cooperation, merging" as guidance to action and took "adjusting and merging" as essential contents, which brought wildly attention and controversy and strong echo in society.The research chose Southwest University as the research example, Southwest University was merged by former Southwest Normal University and former Southwest Agriculture University at July 2005, although these former university were adjacent, their organization culture were obvious different. The paper emphasis on researching present condition of organization culture in Southwest University and brought forward suggestion accordingly, made this organization culture better serve for Southwest University. The related research results are as follows:i. University organization culture contains many factors, these factors could make off four dimensions, which are participation, consistency, adaptability, responsibility.ii. We formed "Organization Culture Questionnaire Aimed at the Southwest University", in which the project analysis,reliability and validity tests were favorable, so this questionnaire could be the instrument for evaluation of the university organization culture.iii. We considered that the present conditions of Southwest University is placed in the general lever via research results, we should take action to strengthen construction of organization culture. ix. There were no gender differences in public evaluating toward the university organization culture, generally speaking, male public had better evaluation than female public. Public on different job position showed obvious difference in evaluation, specifically, the higher job position was, the better was university organization culture. There were obvious differences toward the university organization culture between public who was different of school age, the longer of school age indicates the higher evaluation of the organization culture. Teachers had the better evaluation than other interviewee who on management post and other job post. Public in different university distinct had no obvious difference, their evaluation was consistent basically.
