The inefficiency of classroom teaching and the high lesson burdens of students are the main practical problems to be urgently solved in performing the mathematics experimental textbooks in junior high schools during compulsory education. Classroom teaching is the basic form of teaching in schools, the core step of mathematics teaching in junior high schools, and the key factor to improve the quality of mathematics teaching in junior high schools. Teacher is the executor of New Curriculum Standard. He or she is the controller of the classroom teaching process. Therefore, the quality of classroom teaching depends on teachers' working quantity, on the transformation of teachers' ideas on teaching, and on the right and efficient strategies for classroom teaching.Base on the investigation on the classroom teaching activities of mathematics teachers in junior high schools during performing the experimental textbooks of compulsory education, we concluded that there are three reasons for the inefficiency of mathematics classroom teaching in junior high schools. The first one is the teachers' lag ideas on teaching——"walking in the same roads in new shoes". The second one is the not well understanding on the new curriculum neglecting teachers' positions and roles in the mathematics teaching of junior high schools. The final one is the lack of training on teaching approach in using the experimental textbooks of New Curriculum Standard, especially, the lack of instruction on teaching strategies. Based on the basic theories of the modern mathematics education, integrating the GX views of learning and teaching into the basic ideas of the new curriculum reform, this paper presents a strategy for improving the quality of mathematics teaching in junior high schools. This strategy emphasizes on students' master of basic knowledge and techniques, promotes the forming of students' sensibility and scientific attitudes and world views. It can improve students' grade, can lighten students' burdens, can develop students' abilities to analyze and solve problems during learning, and can let students be of original consciousness and practical abilities. It is of positively theoretical, realistic significance and practical values for guiding mathematics teacher in junior high schools to rightly understand and use the new textbooks, for improving the quality of classroom teaching, and for further promoting the new round reform of basic education curriculum.Based on investigation and experimentation, combining the 32-word knack of GX with classroom teaching practices of the new curriculum, this paper proposes a strategy for improving the efficiency of classroom teaching in junior high schools, namely, coming straight to the point and making the main topic clear; practicing before explanation and promoting the learning through exercising; going forward actively and summarizing in time; practicing by various manners and cooperating with others; reviewing in different levels and evaluating by different manners.Study shows that the strategy presented in this paper has remarkable positive effects on guiding teachers to well and rightly understand the textbooks of New Curriculum Standard and to transform their ideas on teaching, on lightening students' lesson burdens, and on improving the quality of classroom teaching.
