A Study Of Using Teachers' Blog To Facilitate Middle School Students' After-Class English Reading

Blog has been widely used in different fields around the world because of its fast development. It has a great effect on people's learning and life. Many characters can be found about Blog, such as simplicity, swiftness, low cost, privacy, alternation. Some educators have a special eye on the potentiality of Blog that lies in widening the students'knowledge, arousing the students'interest, improving the activities between the teachers and students or among the students. Therefore, they tried to teach the students with the help of Teachers'Blog. And they made it.As is known to us all, it is an important part to teach the students to read in English teaching. Though reading the students'ability to use the language can be trained, so can the expressing ability. Traditional reading method focuses on the language knowledge instead of the main idea of the reading material. With the development of Curriculum Reform, the need of reading can not be met in a class. As a result, more attention was paid to read after class.This thesis tried to use Teachers'Blog to teach the students how to read after class, make a Teachers'Blog, publish the articles on Blog and communicate with the students. And a way was also tried to find to combine Teachers'Blog and reading because Teachers'Blog has so many characteristics on teaching content, studying method, creating a language context and teaching method. It is expected that this new way can be a guide for reading after class and the ability to read can be improved.The students showed that they made great progress on vocabulary, reading strategy, the speed of reading and reading ability. The result is that Teachers'Blog can do a great help to reading ability of senior high school students. As a method assisted with reading printed materials, Teachers'Blog will be more and more helpful. However, there are some insufficiencies resulting from the limited time and ability, which can be improved and adjusted in the following activities between the teachers and students.
