The fast development of information technology, typically multimedia techonology and computer network, is changing the environment that we live in and our way of learning. In these years, blog, which is a newly-developed technique in informaiton age has got extensive application in numerous fields and industries. It has also permeated through the middle schools' information-based education gradually. In this article the principles and techniques of the educational blog are introduced into the class management, course teaching, investigative course and the students' process of growing. While setting up the class blog platform of Shanghai Foreign Language School Affilicated to SISU, the author does the research work on the cases of how middle school students' overall quality can be raised by the educational effects of the class blog in, and how to build a bridge of communication among teachers, students and parents.This article is made up of five parts.The first part is the introduction of the concept and the application of the educational blog and the class blog. Based on the fact of the shortage of personal websites, BBS and QQ, it puts forward a suggestion of setting up the class blog platform with blog technique.In the second part, the author uses literature research. Based on the theories of Constructivism, Humanism Learning, Reflective Learning and Learning Community, this article reveals the effect and value of the class blog in improving the middle school students' overall quality with the functional advantages and current applications of the class blog.In the third part, after discussing various ways of setting up the blog platform, the author chooses the Oblog software based on the ASP technique to take the secondary exploitation with school network server as the platform for setting up the class blog.The fourth part is the main body of the thesis. By analyzing the cases of class management, course teaching, investigative course and the students' process of growing, the author inquires into the effect of the class blog on the students, teachers and parents in education and teaching and the improvement of the middle school students' overall quality.After summarizing the result of the experiment, in the fifth part the author points out the meaning, the problems and the future of the research. With the educators' further research on the educational function of blog, the techniques of blog will effectively promote the development of information-based education in the fields of teaching and learning communication, knowledge management and cooperative learning etc.
