The research on independent learning mode draws much interest and concern of many educators.The research,in particular,with the rapid development of IT,on independent learning in the environment of IT arouses great attraction among the large circle of scholars.The writer, as a IT teacher in a high school,will do a research and have a discussion on the learning mode implied in the IT teaching of high schools under the background of the new courses reform.There is an insufficiency in the research on its own growing and application concerning the learning method, either in theory and practice or at home and abroad in senior high schools, though.Though many scholars argue in favor of it,other scholars query it with sound reasons.So we should give enough attention to theoretical study of it and put it into practice.By adopting the methods of investigation and experiment in this kind of teaching in high schools,a deep research has been done on the application to certain degree.The paper makes a deep investigation of the cognition of teachers and students in teaching based on self-study and learning from the following four aspects:the basis for carrying out the teaching based on self-study,the current learning situation of students,the understanding of teachers on the teaching based on self-study,and the influence caused by the independent learning and teaching on students' scores,initiative,confidence and potential.The results of study finally indicate that although there is good basis in developing inquiry-based teaching in senior middle schools,the reality that students are studding independently and that teachers recognize the teaching based on self-study in not ideal.The fact that the interferential experiments done in IT teaching in classes,together with the noticeable improvement in the above four aspects,proves to be feasible and necessary.
