In improving Chinese teaching, in solving the existing problem of the development of the mind and intelligence of senior high school students and in reaching the final goal of educating people in Chinese teaching, art education in Chinese teaching is quite necessary.According to the theory of emotion quotient, the study theory of structuralism, the theory of humanism psychology and art principles, combined with the practice of Chinese teaching, a research has been done into the purpose, function, characteristics, principles and teaching patterns of art education in Chinese teaching in senior high schools.The function of art education in Chinese teaching in senior high schools is to promote the full development of human knowledge. According to the stage of the individual, art education can promote the releasing and edifying of the individual's emotion, agreeable and harmonious relation of the individual, and the creative development of the individual. In accordance with the stage of the society, it can promote the social development of the individual and people's communication and understanding, and develop the individual's ability of love. According to natural culture, it can help students to realize the relationship between people and nature. As the education of promoting the individual's growth of emotional life, the purpose, function, and value of art education in Chinese teaching will be realized in the process of art education. Process is the main feature of art education in Chinese teaching. The process intrinsically includes the full development of the individual's mental function and consciousness, thus calling the learner's nonintellectual factor, arousing the learner's interest in Chinese study, and making them get Chinese knowledge and skills positively and actively. The stress in art education in Chinese teaching should be laid on the analysis of beautiful images in resources of Chinese, therefore impressing and pleasing people through images and making the educators always very interested in creation and appreciation of aesthetic. The teacher shows respect for the personal differences by teaching related knowledge and creates situations of art education through open contents and plenty of Chinese activities. The teacher arouses the students' emotional identification through the emotion in the text itself and the teacher's "removal emotion", pleasing people by emotion. Through the training of language sense, the teacher can let the students make meaning building through the language process of listening, reading, speaking and writing and build their own knowledge, skills, emotional system and develop and improve their own character.By means of the function to "develop the individual ability of love " and in realizing the function in art education in senior high school, in combining the pattern of classroom teaching with that of out-of-class teaching, disturbing the system of textbooks and building the study module of "love like songs", the teacher should teach students view of love, and by developing their right view of love, the teacher should foster social adaptation of the students, lead the students to tell beauty from ugliness, develop the individual ability of love, improve the individual's ideal character, and lead the individual to achieve perfection of lifeArt education is very important in promoting the study of Chinese knowledge and skills for senior high school students, and it's also of great importance in developing their healthy taste in art and their sound personality.
