A citywide survey was made to find out the present situation and existing problems in the junior students'physical activities after school so to provide basis for further reform of school in Baishancity. As the important part of the school physical education,after-class physical activities are the main means which enforce the aims and tasks of the school P.E(physical activities),and the role they play become more and more outstanding.On the health view,they provide better conditions to the improvement of the juniors'health; then P.E teaching,on the view of lifelong physical education,they are benefit to the middle school students training of sense,interests,habits and abilities.Afte physical activities are the paths which change the school physical education to social P.E and lifelong P.E,further rmore,they become the chief contents of the juniors'lives,and they are also the main symbols of measuring the civilized and healthy life styles.Therefore how to make the juniors abandon various disadvantageous factors,to make part in the after-class physical activities effectively,and impove their healthy level then to make a firm base of lifelong P.E,to deal with plenty modern society challenges which they have to face.This paper studies on an investigation and analysis, aiming at analyzing the influencing factors that affect the junior students of Baishancity of JiLin Proveince to participate the after-class physical activities from the aspects of education, psychology and sociology by using the methods of philological datum,interviews and questionnaire survey, the results that the study indicate is the following:First,the junior students of Baishancity of JiLin Province are much more interested in after-class P.E.The attitudes of participating the activity are compled,they have clear and many faceted realization to the functions of after-class P.E activities,but their emotional experiences of participating after-class P.E activities are obviously deficient,the attitudes of28.15 percent of boys and 44.74 percent of girls are uncertion,and are greatly influenced by their moods and emotions.Their motivations ofpartici- pating after-class P.E activities develop to the directions of leisure amusment and adjusting the emotions.Second,the after-class physical activities that the juniors participate focus on some simple items such as running,ballgames,skippingrope,etc.Butthejuniors'interests are mang faceted .some novel P.E items are appreciated.They are fond of the P.E items with the features ofentertainment,body building and compitation.Traditional P.E items such as wushu and skating are the items that the juniors interested in.Third,the numbers of students who take part inafter-class physical activities.On school days are more than that on weekends 31 percent of juniors don't take part in after-class physical activities on weekends;The time is short and the strength is low;the P.E health habitshould be improved.Fourth,the main forms for the juniors to participate after-class physical activities at present include free activities with their classmates,doing exercises by themselves,do some sports with their families;The sites of after-class physical activities focus on school studiums and public places;The consuming level of the juniors'P.E is low,and the consuming ideas are relativelu backword, substance-consuming and information-consuming are the mainparts.The P.E consuming structure relatively logical.Fifth,the main factors that restrict the juniors to participate after-class physical activities are"having no time","lacking the site equipments","having no sutiable sports items",being short of sports comparies,having no interests and bing unable to exercies.
