China is a large agricultural country with vast territory, and the farmer occupies 80% of the whole population. Farmer's physical quality concerns the entire Chinese nation's quality, so developing the rural area's sports is of both vital and realistic significance. Rural sports should begin from rural school education, and rural school PE plays an important part in the construction of well-off society, and it is also the strategic priority of our country's sports undertaking development, which shoulders the responsibility of developing the students' physical quality and enjoys high status in quality-oriented education. Well implementing PE teaching in rural areas is of profound significance to promote the students' healthy growth, improve their health, enhance their physique and develop their physical quality.By using literature method, questionnaire method and mathematical statistical method, this paper investigated current PE teaching situation and analyzed the main factors that influence PE teaching of Tianjin rural area's junior middle school, and gave some advice which can be served as reference for the educational department. From the questionnaire paper of 1000 students and 100 physical education teachers from 20 rural junior middle schools in Tianjin, it got the conclusions as follows: 1 Most students of Tianjin rural area's junior middle school students show strong interest in PE and their motive is explicit. And they learn and get sports knowledge by all kinds of channels. But there are also some students showing little interest in PE study and unwilling to go to PE class because of the unitary teaching content, lacking teaching equipment and because they think their body are not fit for sports; 2 In Tianjin rural area's junior middle school, the full-time PE teacher is quite deficient; PE teachers' education background level can reach the requirements stipulated by the country; the percentage of high ranking PE teacher is relatively small; the working load of PE teacher is too heavy, and the calculation of the teachers' workload in unreasonable, which leads to the PE teachers' dissatisfaction with the profession and job burnout; the teacher receives little training and their ideology is not so stable. 3 The phenomenon that PE class is taken by other classes is very common in Tianjin rural area's junior middle, and PE teacher should further understand and master sports and health standard. 4 The gym construction in Tianjin rural area is relatively lagged behind.According to the problems existing in Tianjin rural area's junior middle school PE teaching, this paper proposed corresponding countermeasures, which are: 1 To motivate the students' PE study initiative and enthusiasm; 2 To enrich and stabilize the teaching staff; 3 To pay attention to the rural area teachers' continuing education and training; 4 To renovate PE teachers' concept about education and implement Curriculum Standard; 5 To exploit the current resources and improve the material conditions. It can serve as reference for the sustainable development and PE teaching reform of Tianjin rural area's junior middle school.
