In the new conditions, the career psychology research of college students is very important. Career maturity is the extent to which individual is ready for coping with career development tasks appropriate to his or her age.Because career maturity is an important concept in career psychology theory,so people gradually pay attention to its value of reaserch.To investigate the career maturity status of college students and its correlation factors can make us learn more about their career psychological development characteristics,which will improve the effects and focus of career counseling and help college students to develop their own career psychology and career maturity.In this study, I investigated college student career maturity and its relationships to self-concept.Subjects were 400 college students in senior year in Yangtze Normal University.Each student completed the following measures: Tennessee Self Concept Scale,and Career Maturity Scale. Conclusions were as following:(1) Gender difference was not significant in career maturity as indexed by all factors and total score.(2)Major difference was found in career maturity as indexed by vocational cognition, vocational attitude and vocational selection.(3) Difference of the origin of family was found in career maturity as indexed by value and conditional assessment.(4) There was significant correlation between self-concept and career maturity.Career maturity increased from low self-concept score group to high self-concept score group.There was significant difference among different levels of self-concept.
