Along with the continuing development of our country, the interpersonal competition is becoming growingly severe. Therefore, how a person can grasp opportunities to reach a higher goal in the course of their career has become a wide public concern. The purpose of this article is to describe the status of postgraduates'career planning and explore factors that affect it in order to helping postgraduates design their career program.Based on the comprehensive of articles on career planning, work values and self-efficiency, Postgraduates'Career Planning Questionnaire (PCPQ) was created. And then, PCPQ was administrated by 500 postgraduates from Henan University, East China Normal University, and Peking Normal University. Lastly, statistic techniques such as T-test, Variance Analysis, Correlation Analysis and Regression Analysis were used to analyze the dates. Consequently, we draw the following conclusions:Firstly, the PCPQ is composed of 20 items, which are divided five dimensions: career strategies, career aims, career exploration, interpersonal relations and self development. This questionnaire has reasonable reliability and validity.Secondly, the differences between population statistic variables such as gender, grade and work experience were significant. Particularly speaking, female and high grade and having work experience postgraduates got higher scores than the male, low grade and having no work experience postgraduates, and the difference is significant; conversely, the differences between different specialties and different family economy situations are not significant.Thirdly, postgraduate career planning as well as each dimension have a positive relation with general self-efficiency and every dimensions of work values. Forthly, general self-efficiency, prestige and status, and self-fulfill values can predict the scores on postgraduate career planning.Lastly, throng the analysis on mediation variables, it was found that general self-efficiency play a significantly mediatory role between prestige and status value and career planning; and do the same role between self actualization value and career planning.
