To middle school student, language is a course that is so practical that student can benefit from the course for life. If we want to realize the practicality, we can't only complete some homework or utilize cliches. Let alone the fact is that language can improve with age and experience without regular training in school. Certainly, it is the difference in scope or rate. So if Chinese can't improve the student practically, it will be not essential.The starting point of the article is the content of teaching and studying. The article point out the peculiarity is fuzziness. It analyzes the fact that the knowledge system is comprehensive and open, and the students are different with each other, and we can't deliver how to think clearly, and effectual rule is very deficient. In middle school, the fact is that language is a course of all courses, so the time is limited. But students improve themselves with how many knowledge they study and how to absorb the knowledge. Numerous tasks are conflict with the limited time, the uniformity in giving lesson is conflict with the difference of students.To settle those conflicts, the article points out selected works pattern. The course of teaching and studying includes four parts: memory for accumulation, comprehension for experience, reading and exercise. It analyzes those problem that how to select works, what the content and principle of memory is, and what the way and principle of comprehension is. The charm of language is from the combination of language, state of mind and situation. So try to make selected works including various sorts of works as carrier of leaning language. And then look the selected works as starting point to expand students ken. The part of comprehension becomes a platform for interchange. We can train listening, speaking, reading and writing at the same time. Knowledge is mastered and effectual thinking is improved by means of leaning selected works. The reading part accumulates language. The exercise part is a short procedure on the basis of selected works to master knowledge by means of consolidating and compensating. It absorbs traditional method of leaning language; for example, emphatically improve students by means of reading a lot and repeating reading by themselves. Provide students with the starting point, not the highest goal, so as to afford enough space for developing talent. It absorbs contemporary viewpoint and method, for example, take notice of the combination of knowledge and student. And then put forward attaching importance to process and combining rending methods. On the one hand, knowledge has footing; on the other hand, student can improve themselves really.The aim of the article is put forward that improve student by means of selected works in classroom. At the same time, the article puts forward some questions, for example, how to select works, how to seek the breach to comprehend works, the answer to those questions should be the result of combining theory and practice for many years. The article raises only a little suggestion. The article makes fuzziness as the starting point to offer my opinions to elicit others' valuable ones.
