New Curriculum Reform is the profound changes of China's basic education. School-based research adapts to the reform, and has become a necessary and important mechanism system in the process of the reform. With the development of the reform and basic education, school-based research will be an urgent strategy for the development of schools, teachers and students. Regarded as a career, the research leads teaching and the development of teachers.The research doesn't only play an important part in the development of teachers and students, but also provide a chance for students to develop.This article tries to reveal the present situation of the subject of history in senior school through the investigation. It provides practical suggestions to carry out the research through analysing the urgency ,as well as the factors that prevent the research from being carried out.The article includes 3 sections. In the first section, the writer expounds the basic element, concept and practical meaning of the research from its start and development. The second part aims at the practice in the research of the subject of history in senior high.It analyses the urgency of the research in 4 aspects, that is, the problem with history teachers from pre-vocational education status and the existing problems, the situation of their teaching in the near future and existing problems, the present teaching situation and traditional teaching model. It also introduces 3 main models-- lesson study, research and narration research-- out of cases in the subject of history in our city. The third part analyses the situation of the research in the subject of history in our city and concludes the existing problems and the factors that prevent it from developing. Also it puts forward the solutions to the problems, namely, developing teachers in the research of teaching, guiding teachers the way to research and reducing teachers' burden. Let teachers get away from boring work. Good system is the base of the research. Meanwhile, network research is a New Carrier of the research.This article stresses that schools are places where education really exists. The research makes sense only when it is based on the real problems of the school, and that teachers are the main part of the research. The research provides a good environment for study for both teachers and students.
