Current Democratic Quality Research Of Chinese College Students

Modern politics is democratic politics, the overall quality improvement of citizens' democracy is of great significance to the development of socialist democracy and construction of socialist political civilization. College students are the pillars of the country's future and the backbone of socialist modernization construction, so the quality of their democracy will directly influence the democracy construction of China. Use sampling methods, taking a purposeful questionnaire survey about Chinese university students on the current status of the democratic quality. Take Soochow University undergraduate students as an example. And try to describe democracy of college students with quantitative methods. Then analysize the reasons for the arising problems according to the results of the survey. Current college students' democratic knowledge reserves are not enough to participate in democratic politics, so take an attitude which shows they're afraid of it, so keep far away from it. Most of College students have little confidence in democratic subjective capacity. The democratic quality of current college students for score is 5.319.Analyzing the findings attempts to put forward rationalization proposals for the democratic quality of college students. The statement of this thesis is that both the authorities and the students should make clear of the true meanings. For one things, the educational authorities must pay enough attention to the students' rights. For another, the students should take initiative efforts to improve their qualities of democracy. Meanwhile, through enriching the content of democratic education, the students' democratic knowledge can be widen. Also the atmosphere can be crated by encouraging college students to take part in cultural activities, making full use of the campus news media, which will open up the democratic right to speak. At the same time, it is magnificent to enhance the institutionalized construction of the Student Congress; actively explore the system for students to participate in the management of school decision-making and improve the level of students' participation in school management. Most importantly, a sound democratic management of the status of autonomous organizations should be established to help shaping the interaction between the authorities and the students by transmitting the knowledge, cultivating the attitude and strengthening the ability.
