The university as the talent bank, dominate over the economy. In the new century, faced with higher education internationalization, popularization, commercialization, Chinese higher education confronted with the complicated situation of resources shortage, disturbing environment, disordered system, low efficiency, increasing surviving pressure. The university demands new theory to explain new perplexity and contradiction, to integrate the problems of resource and ability, to seek new ways of new survival and development. Consequently, the research on university core competence emerges on the basis of the present situation."University core competence" is a transplanting concept and the product of "core competence"and "university". It learns from the achievements of the research both on core competence and university, and it is the confluence of two disciplines and two researches. Therefore, based on the nature of the university and according to the definition that theorists of Prahalad and Hammer have given, we have summarized the concept of "university core competence", which is a kind of integrating ability founded on the history of university's development, nature and special resources. It consists of university's development goal, historic culture, the building of main subjects, management, rules and regulation and learning system.The research based on the analysis of university's core competence's main components to form evaluating index. University's core competence include five main factors: talent training, scientific research achievements, school culture, management and learning system. University's school culture, management and learning system is the integration, which differ greatly from others. |
