Research On Cultivating Core Competence Of University Students Based On The Method Of TQM

This paper brings forward the importance of cultivating university students'core competence considering the reality of talents competing and the problem of obtaining employment, based on the current situation of society development and reforming higher education. First of all, the 21st Century is an era of knowledge and talents. The society and enterprises pay more and more attention to talents.University students are facing huge challenge of talent competing. Second, there are many problems in teaching idea, subject setting, teaching method and cultivation plan for universities.The students are also not doing well in setting goal and plans, lack of creative and active study. This leads to the gap between the way of cultivating and the reality outside the school. Third, the situation of obtaining employment in China faces great pressure, and more and more university graduate students add more pressure to that. These problems prove that university students should pay attention to the real needs of society and enterprises, make good use of resources in school, and learn in an active and creative way, so that they will obtain core competence.Based on relevant studies on the theories of "core competence", TQM and so on, analyzing the actuality of cultivating university students at home and abroad, and considering relevant studies, this paper explains the connotation of the concept of "core competence of university students", which can be divided into three levels, that is the level of personalities, the level of abilities and the level of skills. By utilizing the method and "PDCA" action model of TQM, we establish the model of cultivating core competence of university students.Practical ways for cultivating core competence on university students'own initiative is put forward in the end.By doing this study, we can find that cultivating core competence of university students is a systematic project with many influencing factors. So TQM is necessary to provide overall management during the cultivating. And autonomy is also very important for university students to cultivating core competence on their own.
