Fairy tales are spiritual food for children .They carry too many children's childhood dreams. Fairy tales are of great significance for children. In the Chinese textbooks for primary students, the number of fairy tales is increasing rapidly. It reflects the special status of fairy tales in the primary Chinese teaching. However, there is a big gap between the fairy tales teaching reality and ideals. Especially in rural primary schools, they lack good teaching conditions, environment and enough teaching forces and so on. During the teaching, the teachers lack theory quality of fairy tales. They can't implement the teaching objectives. The children's spiritual world and the reading and accepting psychology is not clear. The teaching method is single and rigid. Children's extra-curricular teaching doesn't receive much attention. So the present fairy tales teaching isn't satisfying. The children in rural schools can't feel the unique charm in the class. In addition, they have no chance to set foot in more reading space of fairy tales. Fairy tales don't indeed get to and into the children's lives and inner world both in class and out of class. This paper, from the value of fairy tales themselves, sees the survey of actual situations of fairy tales teaching in the rural primary schools. It also tries to find out the reasons why the quality of the fairy tales teaching is not rich. In order to solve the unsatisfying situations, it suggests a number of constructive, workable recommendations and strategies to achieve supposed effect. Then, fairy tales really get close to children and get into the children's inner world.This paper consists of three main components. The first part explains the origins, the purposes and the designs of the survey. The second part is obtained by the statistical and analytical materials of the questionnaires and interviews. The third part derives from the unsatisfactory results of the statistical analysis and gives some reform measures to enhance the effectiveness of fairy tales teaching. The three parts make an integrating and organic whole. The only purpose of the study is to change the unsatisfactory situations of fairy tales teaching in rural primary school. Let fairy tales really get close to children and enter the children's inner world .Let the children in rural primary schools have the wings of imagination and experience the unlimited charm in their fairy- tale ages. So they can absorb nourishment and grow up healthily and robustly.
