Metacognition theory was first proposed by American psychologist Flavell J.H. in studying children's psyche. It had attracted great attention in the domain of education since 1990. The issue of learning disability is one of the most serious problems with basic education. And the students with mathematical learning disability occupy the largest portion in this group, so the research on the group with mathematical learning disability would play an important role in the mathematical Pedagogy Research. Moreover, at present, the situation of junior high school students with mathematical learning disability is especially tough. So doing research on the cause and transformation of junior high school students' mathematical learning disability from metacognition viewpoint would be of great value.Based on the studies that have been done about Learning Disability in domestic and foreign institutes, we redefine of the students with mathematics learning disability. Furthermore, we take questionnaire investigation and case studies to do a survey about the metacognition levels of junior high school students with mathematical learning disability. Meanwhile, we make further analyses on the results of the survey. Finally, we discuss the cause of the junior high school students with mathematical learning disability. And we arrive at a conclusion that junior high school students, especially the group with mathematical learning disability, may be in lack of metacognition knowledge. So this special group could not have effective supervision and control on their study. Based on the conclusion, we lay our emphasis on the measures to transform the students with mathematical learning disability from metacognition viewpoint. (1) Using metacognition experiences to stimulate the study motives of the students. (2) Enhancing the teaching about mathematical thoughts and techniques. (3) Enhancing the supervision, control, modulation and training in the process of learning. (4) Improving the evaluating measures of students' achievements on the foundation of metacognition.Besides, this thesis also provides some teaching cases striving to improve the Math metacognition levels of the students. I hope this thesis would contribute to the teaching endeavor of the junior high school teachers which aims at transforming the students with mathematical learning disability, and give them some inspiration.
