With the acceleration of social rhythm and the improving standard of people's life nowadays, the public became more and more keen on health and mental relief .Therefore, a variety of activities for body-building have became vital in there lives . Among these activities, Yoga, one of the traditional movements form India, has been involved over the past decades. This movement has been quite popular for a long history in India, with different characteristic in different times. Because of its notable effectiveness in both body-building and mind-smoothing, yoga has generated great attention. At present, among the numerous different forms of yoga, the majority of them emphasize more on self-cultivation as they help to regulate the muscle, bones,radius, and the endocrine system through vinyasa,pranayama,and meditation. At the same time, the ancient Chinese body-building skills had also been handed down over several centuries. The traditional five-animal play,the eight-section brocade,the change-tendon scroll, the shadow boxer and Qigong are some of the well-known skills. By adjusting breath, body and mind, they emphasize both physical and psychological heath. Through these practice, the participator can benefit both physically and psychologically. In the deep study which compare Yoga with the ancient Chinese skills, the author finds that there are some similarities between them in five aspects as rooting,principles for movements, physiology analysis and breath practice. He hopes that these founding can help to accelerate the development of domestic ancient body-building skills.
