In the early stage of its independence, all of the activities of India need to be risen. In order to meet the demand of high technology professionals in the development of country, the India government took building a new system of high-technical education into prior consideration.After making unremitting efforts for decades, India government establishes an educational system called national key college system whose status is beyond the ordinary college system.Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) is the biggest national key college which is most influential in India. The first Indian Institute of Technology was established in 1951, and the other six ones were set up one after the other.On the foundation of copying the school system model of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, it becomes a top research institute all over the world in the short span of a few decades.So far, the students who came from IIT were met with warm acceptance by the famous research institutions and enterprises at home and abroad.To some extent, the success of IIT can be attributed to some macroscopically external causes, such as the tremendous support of the government and the assistance of international community ,but the unique management features act as a more important and deep-seated role in it.First, the management mechanism is essential to the success of a college. The unique three-tier management structure, frame the college system leading by academic science, thus ensure the fu1l autonomy of the Institute;Then, the rigorous teaching style, the practice courses which ran through producing, studying and researching, and the unique characteristics of international teaching management of IIT, cultivated a large group of talents who were excellent in many aspects and internationally competitive.Moreover, via the three stages which carried the scientific research projects of institute, IIT strived for a way of high-level cooperation at home and abroad, and it combined scientific research with personnel training, ultimately got great achievements in its scientific research filed.finally,in order to ensure the excellent quality of the students and teachers of IIT under the resource vision in an international tide , IIT enhance the professionalism and professional status of teachers and exploit capacity of students through abundant human resource projects and activities in and out of classes.It was just the unique management features that lead a world standard way of IIT. Just because of its excellence, it encountered a lot of challenges such as government intervention, brain drain in the development process.Overall, the achievements that IIT get was marvelous ,though there are some challenges in its present development ,the experience of its success will never be out of date, it deserve the researcher of high education to do deeper research and use for reference.
