Nowadays, science and technology is treated as the first productive force. Soscientific researh is an important way of social progress and development. As theimportant place to cultivate and gather elites, the university undertakes the crucialtask scientific research. So, how to attract, motivate, develop, and retain highintellectual capital to improve the performance of scientific research in highereducational institutions has become one of the important subject of colleges anduniversities. Due to the lack of study on the human resource management practice andthe limit of dual power system structure, colleges and universities didn’t play the duerole in the past. Therefore, it is necessary to study the relationship between humanresource management practices and the teachers’ performance in colleges anduniversities.Combining with the reserch on eight hundred staffs from four universitiesin JiangXi province, we find:share information were positively correlated with thescientific research performance; Strategic human resource management positivelycorrelated with scientific research input and negatively related to scientific researchoutput; Employee selection is negatively related to the scientific contribution;Employee career development have significant positive correlation with the threedimensions of scientific research performance; Fair compensation practice andscientific research output has significant negative correlation relationship;Occupational safety have significant negative correlation relationship with scientificcontribution and scientific research intput; Performance evaluation has a negativelyrelationship with scientific contribution,and has a positively relationship withscientific research input and scientific research output.
