The author of Goal Setting theory thought that especially when the goal is to set specific and difficult, then the goal would have a positive impact on the activity results. However, this view has not been fully supported in the field of sports. Weinberg and others, a series of studies (1985, 1983, 1991, 1993) found that there is no significant difference in the difficult goal, moderately challenging goals and the easy goal .Therefore, the goal setting difficulty effect on the activities needs to be discussed again. Moreover this theory set more emphasis on the effect of goal difficult on activities, the relationship between the goal difficulty and internal motivation, and the relationship between the goal difficulty and self-efficacy rarely mentioned the internal motivation and self-efficacy are two important psychological factors in the study. The higher the internal motivation and self-efficacy, the initiative is stronger in student studies. So studying on internal motivation and self-efficacy in the goal setting theory will enable us a more in-depth understanding. in the process and performance of students, studies. This study selects three classes of Wuhan Institute of P.E coming from 2004 undergraduate students. And the three classes were randomly divided into easy goal group, the challenging goal group and the difficulty goal group. In the implementation process, this study uses the "single-blind" teaching experimental design and test mode, and assesses the spiking skills, carries on the questionnaire survey on self-efficacy and the internal motivation. The results showed that:1. At the end of the experiment, the levels of volleyball spiking and self-efficacy of the challenging goal group are the highest. But there was non-significance difference with the easy goal group. In the dimension of the internal motivation, effort in the challenging goal group was very significant higher than the easy and the difficult goal group. And the other dimensions of the challenging goal group are higher than the easy goal group, but no significant difference. Apart from the pressure the difficult goal group showed a high level, the other dimensions were the lowest.2. In the experiment process, the tendency of spiking,self-efficacy and internal motivation indicate that three goal group were significantly different.3. Goal difficulty, spiking, self-efficacy and internal motivation was significantly related.4. Self-efficacy and internal motivation were the goal difficulty intermediary variables to affect spiking performance, and self-efficacy and internal motivation direct impact on the spiking performance.
