Both achievements and lapses have been obtained in Chinese class-teaching in Shenzhen junior schools since curriculum reform. And the whole development appears benign. There is a kind of "Chinese taste" in Chinese lessons. This is the highlight in Chinese teaching and research in recent years. It makes Chinese lessons unified in a tool and humanity. The sense of success has been achieved in Chinese teaching. Great changes have taken place in class mode, including the changes in teaching mode and learning mode. It incarnates a kind of commendable teaching democracy and respect. It arouses the students' interest in learning Chinese. Led by a passel of famous teachers, Chinese teachers have the model for painting in their teaching. The cultural item with Shenzhen feature, yearly held "Movement of Reading Month" and live composition competition, provide the Chinese teaching with the chance to extend inside and outside of classroom.. But there are some deficiencies in Chinese teaching: such as dissimilation, lack of true teaching democracy, false freedom, false exploration, weakness in composition teaching, disorder and so on. Chinese teaching with dark mark of taking exams is naturally controlled by senior school entrance-examinations. All these problems need further research and betterment.
