Teacher's Role expectation is a kind of supposition about teacher's role made by the public. Along with the educational reform, middle school teachers arrest more and more people's attention. However, middle school teachers can not comprehend the public expectation, and therefore can not fulfil their role. The research wants to help teachers learn about the expectation of public and fulfil their role finally by investigating to the different groups.The main purposes of this study, in regard to middle school teacher's role expectation of four Groups(middle school students, parents, middle school teachers, normal school students, called for short"four groups"hereinafter) among three areas (Nanjing, Suzhou, Huaian, called for short"three areas"hereinafter ) in Jiangsu Province, are to understand their current status, to compare the role expectation differences among three areas, to compare the role expectation differences among four groups, to attempt to analyze the potential causation of the difference, and based on the result of the study, to offer suggestions for the school management, teacher-training and educational reform.The research targeted four groups among three areas in Jiangsu Province and collected information by means of the questionnaire. In the end, the data was analyzed by SPSS15.0.The main conclusions of the study are as follows:1. Teacher's role expectation includes seven dimensions: teaching and management, character and responsibility, Specialty-advance, life-attention, teaching notion, interaction between teachers and students, democracy and equality.2. There are significant differences between the male and female. The value of female's expectation is higher than male's in total value, teaching and management, specialty-advance , teaching notion, democracy and equality.3. The value of Huaian's expectation is higher than Nanjing and Suzhou. The value of student's expectation in Huaian is higher than Nanjing and Suzhou. The value of parent's expectation in Huaian and Nanjing is higher than Suzhou.4. The value of teacher's expectation is higher than any other groups.Parents is lower than teacher's, but higher than normal school and middle school student's.5. The difference of the middle school teacher's role expectation comes from areas and groups and the interaction of areas and groups.
