The New Curriculum Reform of Basic Education advocates the change of teachers' viewpoint toward the textbooks. Specifically speaking, the teachers are encouraged to "use textbook" rather than simply "teach textbook". In short, textbooks handling is change textbook content into teaching content. Under new course background, studying current situations and tactics of textbook handling of the middle school mathematics teachers , is accurate usage of mathematics teacher teaching material, boost course reformation being put into effect smoothly having intense practical or immediate significance.The primal problem studying originally is that the high school mathematics teacher teaching material to the "function" handles an exploration under new course background.Under the analysis on the questionnaire mathematics teacher and their student on grade one of middle school Chang Sha City ect. (six county or city in all) in Hunan province shows following:(1) Nowdays mathematics teachers in grade one of high school mainly adjust the content of textbook according to textbooks or teaching reference books joining their own suitably understation. The major part of students like the teachers basically make appropriate readjustment according to the textbook or the actual situation.(2) The sample question, mathematics examples apply in the daily life, research method of mathematics, mathematics problem solving skill, and so on are usually add to the teaching in the content, but the history of mathematics, the mathematician story are less mentioned.(3) The ways of mathematics teachers' dealing with the textbooks are arranged as follows according to the frequency of using: extending mathematics knowledge in the textbooks, changing the sample question in the textbooks, increasing content of textbook. Reducing in the textbooks used very few.(4) The plan of the college entrance examination , test showing still are most important basis according to which the current middle school mathematics teachers handle the textbook. Teaching auxiliary material, teaching reference, the material for preparing a lesson and the network are the main origin of gaining the teaching resources for the current mathematics teachers.(5) Teachers incline towards satisfied comparatively to new textbooks, isn't accustomed to the arrangement change in "function" very much. The teacher's view and satisfaction of textbook are the internal factors which influences textbook handling.Based on these, after analyzing individual cases, we discovered that: the teachers deal with textbooks because the difference of understanding for the logical and systematic characteristic of textbook content, the need of students and teaching, and so on are the main reasons cause to carry on handling the textbooks. The current mathematics teachers attach importance to the link of textbook's analysis and the handling in the teaching design process, the emphasizes of the traditional teaching material and hot topics of the past college entrance examination are the most content that the teachers supplement in the classroom.Based on the above conclusion , combining with the concept of the new curriculum, Mathematics pedagogy and so on, the paper propose the aspect which must pay attention in the textbook processes of "the function" of Grade One of high school teachers, Several attention spots and generally strategy on the processing of the content of the textbooks in the environment of new curriculum...
