Study On University Administration Based On Good-governance

The author in the paper focuses on university administration reform based on the idea of good—governance. Firstly, it analyses the idea of good—governance from western developed countries. It points out the characteristics shown in three aspects: pluralism of administrative bodies, pluralism of power and being open during administration. At the same time, it also clarifies the significance of using good—governance in the administration of Chinese universities. Then the paper analyses how is the administration of Chinese universities and points out some factors in good—governance and some ones not in accordance with it. The former refers to decentralized management, taking teachers' and students' rights seriously during administration and management by law. The latter embodies in many aspects, such as the lack of pluralism in administration, unbalance of authority, repetition of administrative setup and the imperfect mechanism of supervision. At last, the author suggests that we should reform university administration in administrative culture, administrative system, administrative environment and supervisor mode.
