Research On Index System Of Urban Education Modernization

The development of urban education is directly related to the urban competitiveness and influence the realization of urban modernization. Based on this view, there is an crucial timely problem to be solved ,which is how to realize the urban education modernization for uphold the urban competitiveness as well as to improve the urban modernization.As an important part of urban modernization, urban education modernization is a advanced history process in which urban education exceeded the traditional education ,with industrialization and modernization, and added in timely contend to make the education modernity . In the process, the urban education also fulfilled the education transition to urban education modernization , the essence of which is on the education development. The characteristics of the urban education modernization are integrity ,stages , unbalanced and so on. Urban education modernization should be consistent with the values which unite the harmony of education and modernization, for it is influenced by many kinds of factors .This research is based on improvement of urban competitiveness in terms of the second-order theory of modernization and urban sociology. By analyzing the present educational moderation in our country and all over the world, it connects the pressing problems, obvious characteristics and trends which are involved in the process of urban educational modernization under the special international situation that our country is in the crucial time of social transformation and economical globalization. According to this, the fundamental connotation of urban modernization in present is defined, so the index of educational modernization is constructed.It should adopte three- dimensional thinking mode instead of the static , one-dimensional, or two- dimensional thinking mode in order to establish the index system of urban education modernization. Concerning on levels, it is composed of preschool education, elementary education, secondary education, and higher education. On time dimension and degrees, it is divided into three stages : primary, intermediate and advanced. On education and society, It consists of five first-level indexes: the background, guarantee, motive of education development ,efficiency and quality of education development, as well as the level and consequence of education development .Every evaluation of the three aspects refers to three dimensions to embody the total ness of the index system. In terms of the modernization strategic mode, the index of education and society level should be established by reducing suitably the indexes which reflect the first education modernization, at the same time adding the indexes which display the second education modernization. In view of the investigation in different education levels and stages, the sub- index of first level index is somehow changed to embody the scientific of the index system.
