Since the disintegration of matriarchal society, patriarchy has been occupying a dominant position in human's majority community, and there is no exception in China. Such thoughts and norms as"strong-male and weak-female"and "men managing external affairs and women internal"have been invisibly dominating the continuation and development of the whole society. And the female are always in the position of the second sex. They depend on the male and the society, dominated and controlled by them, which leads to their loss of self and positive self-consciousness. This paper takes Guanba Miaozhai village in Enshi of Hubei Province as an example, and explores the problems exposed in the left-behind rural women's self-consciousness and the measures of reconstructing their positive self- consciousness. The first chapter mainly introduces some of the basic information about the women in Guanba Miaozhai village, such as the age structure, and the cultural level, the production status and related particular customs. Chapter II mainly discusses the problems existing in the left-behind rural women's self-consciousness and its negative impact from the aspects of cognition, emotion, attitude and behavior. In the third chapter, the author lists the causes for this phenomenon from the economic, social and cultural aspects. Chapter IV mainly explains the measures of rebuilding women's positive self-consciousness on the background of feminist movement, economy of hiring out for work and new rural construction and son on.However,in the process of reconstruction, there also exist many difficulties, which are profoundly discussed in the conclusion part of the paper. For example, how to completely eliminate the remnants of feudal stupid thought and local backward culture which remain in the minds of some women? At the same time, semi-mobile families have been increasing and many women want to go out to earn their living, then how to avoid the relocation of families and how to make the surplus labor of rural areas withdraw to their hometown? How to resolve women's problems such as marriage crisis, issue of physical and mental health, and corresponding social security issues which are encountered during the staying period. In short, if we want to completely liberate rural women's thoughts and reconstruct their positive self-consciousness, and then achieve modernization of rural areas, there is a long way to go.
