The education appraisal, based on certain teaching goal and the teaching principle, refers to the comprehensive examination and the value judgment process to the overall or partial teaching systems by utilizing the practical and feasible assessment methods and means. The education appraisal is the important constituent of the teaching activity, of which student appraises (student studies level and ability appraisal) is paid attention to, because its guidance and educational function can promote students development and the growth greatly. Speaking of mathematics education,"mathematics ability"is a concept category whose definition connotation is very deep and broad, and because it is related closely to the mathematics discipline development and evolution, its extension is also always expanding along with the people's identifying with the mathematics education value. If we use the only sole way to value the student mathematics ability, the result is certainly unscientific and also inevitably one-sided. However, through many teaching years in the education first line the author thinks that the appraisal work is being maintained continuously, and the improvement is not big. The author believes that, this kind of the obvious contrast with the current imposing class ,mainly is created by two kinds of reasons: One, under the college entrance examination pressure, the promotion development function of the education appraisal had not been known and taken; Two is, our country's education appraisal mechanism has still not made concretely to supervise, instruct, and help the high school stage teaching process, and the first line teachers only consider completing the task, but do not give a thought whether the work which appraises the student has been completed in the teaching process. Therefore, so far, the appraisal which is used to appraise the students'mathematics ability has not played the true role.This article , from the high school teacher's angle, from the analysis the effect of appraising students'work for many years, taking the knowledge system or the thinking method system of the high school mathematics teaching material as the basic content, to develop the students'ability to study mathematics and use mathematics, discusses the appraisal theory and the practice method that can develop the students effectively; and also discusses the connotation of the student mathematics ability, the evaluation criteria and the assessment method. The article hopes to discover the merits and shortcomings of each method by anglicizing each kind of assessment methods, and proposes the author's criticism opinion and the revision suggestions to the assessment methods and appraisal idea of one-sided appraisal student and the score supreme appraisal idea which exist in the present many schools.
